We are happy to introduce you our new wireless ENET adapter, compatible with F-series, G-series and I-series. We named it “modBM WIFI ENET adapter“.
It is compatible with ISTA, ESYS, Aicoder, xDelete, Bimmercode, MHD, BootMod3, DEEPOBD, xDelete, ProTool, xHP (please note: for G-series xHP requires DCAN adapter for the first flash) Â and many other diagnostic, coding and flashing applications.
Compatible with all popular OS: Windows, Android, iOS and many others.
In short, it’s doing the same job as ENET adapter, but wireless, so instead the need of cable connection between your computer/phone/tablet and the car, it allows you to connect your computer/phone/tablet/notebook and your car via wifi connection.
There is really big difference between our modBM WIFI ENET adapter and D-CAN based adapters. modBM WIFI ENET adapter uses ETHERNET connection (100mbps) to the car, not D-CAN (0.5mbps), so the speed of the data transfer is theoretically more than 200 times faster, which in the real life brings as low as 20 times faster speed, which means that if any coding/flashing job needs 2.5 minutes via our adapter, it will need 50 minutes if you’re using D-CAN based adapter (like the most on the market).
*What is ETHERNET (ENET) connection when we talk about cars? In September 2008 BMW announced that a new communication protocol will be added into their vehicles. They added an Ethernet connectivity, which means a lot of the modules inside the car are now connected into a high speed Local Area Network, which means times faster speed communication compared with D-can diagnostic protocol. All of the F-series, G-series and I-series are having that faster communication protocol integrated.
modBM WIFI ENET adapter is compatible with all OEM software applications available for these models – ESYS, ISTA+, INPA as well as great Android/iOS applications like:
Bimmercode, xDelete, MHD, DEEPOBD, BootMod3, Â and all of the others ENET compatible application.
How modBM WIFI ENET adapter works: just plug it in to your car’s OBD2 port, pair your mobile device to the WIFI access point created by modBM WIFI ENET and that is, you are now able to connect your mobile device with your car. It has a router inside it, so it’s not just an serial-to-WIFI or can-to-WIFI adapter, but it uses full functional LAN connectivity between the car and the adapter, which allows the fast speed described above.

Note to all users: if you experience a problem with “Read coding data error”, while using Bimmercode, please keep your phone closer to the adapter when it reads/writes or find a location where there are no other wifi networks nearby. Even just one missed byte, caused by interference or poor wifi recemption, disrupts communication and Bimmercode takes the right decision to say -> better to start over.

I have bought this adapter on the 2nd of April 2020. and it was delivered in 20 days, as stated in the order, even though the corona-virus crisis occurred.
The adapter is excellent and I am really satisfied with it! I used the adapter to code my car through the Bimmercode app. The car modules are read very fast (couple of seconds). Also, the coding process is very quick (as expected) since WiFi data transfer speed is much greater than the speed of Bluetooth data transfer. I will definitely recommend the adapter to my friends.

Basically this is a wifi router with disabled router functionality. It also includes a dhcp server. My adapter is not using OpenWrt like you can see here https://modbm.com/iphone/ . But the web gui is fast and stable. So I don’t need OpenWrt. “only” 4 stars because this information should be in the description, too.

I must say I’m very pleasantly surprised! I ordered my WIFI adapter on a Saturday afternoon and with express shipping even with delays I got it the following Friday. Being that it shipped from Europe to South Africa during a pandemic at least that’s really quick. I connected it to my car to see if it would connect with MHD to clear codes so long before I purchase my tuning license and it picked up immediately and worked super fast and flawlessly. After this I opened up Bimmercode and once again it automatically picked up within a second or two!

Everything is fine with me too. I coded with Bimmercode and read out an error with Bimmerlink and switched my four-wheel drive on and off again with XDelete. It’s all much faster than with a Bluetooth dongle. I will still test whether it works with the G models.

Superfast (standard !) shipping from Bulgaria to the Netherlands , tested right after delivery and was very easy to install : just search for interface in Wifi settings of tablet or handy and activate ! Wifi password ( 12345678 ) is on the interface .
I tested the tool with BMW ProTool which also connected rightaway after choosing Wifi Enet option – really very fast communication with hardly noticable delay ! I’m very happy with the tool which i will also use with Bimmercode, Bimmerlink, Esys and Ista Next.

Adapter is connected via WLAN (connection is established), in Ista HO / ICOM was set as the connection …. but is currently being operated with an OBD 12 V adapter because the BMW vehicle is not there, the adapter is not found here when connecting …. he absolutely needs the BMW car to be found … or is something set wrong? greeting

ISTA will detect the car if you didn’t made any wrong settings onto INPA settings or on your local area network settings. Everything should be left on automatic settings.

I first bought a UniCarScan UCSI-2100 Bluetooth Adapter but these device is terribly slow. That brought me to the Wifi-Enet adapter from modBM. After working with it in combination with Bimmerlink and Bimmercode I can almost say only positive things about it. There is only one little thing who bothers me. When you try to remove the adapter, it jams a bit and you have to apply some force to be able to loosen it. Apart from that a great product!

Hello Everyone, please be aware that this WiFi adapter (modbm) is not compatible with xHP!!!
When I tried to flash my car with that adapter the flashing process failed. The end result was errors from the unfinished flashing process.
Modbm is saying that their adapter is supporting xHP but this is not true. If you check the official website of xHP you will notice that modbm adapter is not part of the supported adapters.
Dear Modbm, please don’t be so rude to lie your customers.
