IBUS interface is most commonly used for IBUS-APP – the on-board computer application for Android.

IBUS interface is an IBUS to USB interface, it doesn’t offer any other features, but allows an USB device to be able to read and transmit digital telegrams on a LIN-BUS based network.

Our IBUS interface uses one of the best integrated circuits for its USB communication (CP2102) and for IBUS telegrams transceiving (TH3122), which guarantees a this guarantees the highest level of communication quality and simple integration into your car.

No drivers are usually needed, since almost all modern operating systems come with an pre-installed driver for the USB integrated circuit CP2102.

IBUS interface is compatible with all of the I-BUS and K-BUS related software applications available on the market.

Our IBUS interface is compatible with:

  • Many others software applications and custom project regarding lin-bus, IBUS, KBUS communication.

How to connect IBUS interface to your car:

You have to splice 3 wires of IBUS interface’s connector to your car’s wiring harness: 12V (DIR), GND (ground), IBUS/KBUS.

RED wire of IBUS interface to 12V DIR source in your car (red, red/white, red/green wire in your car).

BROWN wire of IBUS interface to GND (brown, brown-white, brown-white wire in your car wiring harness).

WHITE wire of iBUS interface to IBUS (white-gray with yellow dots) or KBUS (white-red wire with yellow dots).

IBUS is always a white wire with gray stripe and yellow dots.

Some Bimmers (like E46 as an example) are not equipped with IBUS, they have KBUS only, which is white wire with red stripe and yellow dots, so on E46, please connect the yellow wire of our interface to KBUS.

Our IBUS interface has almost zero power consumption (0.2mA) in idle, so it won’t drain your battery.

What is the IBUS (or I-BUS)?

It is an one wire digital communication bus. IBUS, as well as any other digital communication bus, allows all of the connected electronic modules to communicate each other by sending and receiving digital telegrams.

BMW I-BUS communication technology is based on LIN-BUS (Local Interconnect Network) protocol.

    There are two shipping methods available:
    1. Registered mail: the shipping time to Russia now is around 2 weeks. Sometimes it’s faster, sometimes it’s slower.

    2. DHL express shipping. The package will be delivered within 2-4 working days, but this shipping method is times more expensive, than registered mail.

    This device can be used with many different apps. Most of them are not free.
    I’m pretty sure you are asking about IBUS-APP for Android, which is not free. The paid version costs around 20EUR.

    If your Xtrons is Android 6.0 or newer, yes, it’s compatible.
    I guess the shipping to Greece would take no more than 5-8 working days, since we ship from Bulgaria.

    Price is great. Using this with ibus-app, the licensed version. In a 2003 Z4 e85. Everything seems to work except folding/unfolding the mirrors en opening/closing the roof.
    Any idea why?
